LiveSailing is one of the leading tools used by media professionals to generate 3D images of sailing races in real-time for output to television and mobile/tablet.

The tools is used to generate custom 3D views of racing sail boats in order to enrich the spectator’s experience by explaining what the human eye cannot see: the distance between competitors, trajectories, rankings, all in real time.

The system comprises:

  • Proprietary solution for tracking sail boats in the marine environment
  • Proprietary communications protocol – suitable both for a marine environment and a highly congested radio environment
  • Software to manage data capture, analysis and output of information of interest e.g. rankings, gain/loss line, statistics, etc
  • Software to manage production of high-quality 3D images in real time (and replay) under direction of the event’s TV production team (e.g. host broadcaster chooses camera angle, information to display, etc)
